15 core badges, one legendary bonus, 10 combos and 16 upgrades. Each one comes from a real kind of emergency alert. Tap a badge to learn what the alert means and what to do when you get one.

Rarity tiers

Core badge rarity comes from how many WEA phone alerts of that type were actually sent nationwide in 2023–2025, counted in FEMA's OpenFEMA IPAWS Archived Alerts dataset (28,010 WEA messages in total). Upgrades rank one tier above their base badge. Combo rarity is scored from the badges in the recipe. More on the method.

Stars	Tier	Meaning (core badges)
★☆☆☆☆	COMMON	1,000 or more WEA messages a year nationally
★★☆☆☆	UNCOMMON	200 to 999 WEA messages a year nationally
★★★☆☆	RARE	50 to 199 WEA messages a year nationally
★★★★☆	EPIC	1 to 49 WEA messages a year nationally
★★★★★	LEGENDARY	Fewer than one a year, or never sent for real

Badges are souvenirs of alerts that already covered where you live. Never travel toward danger. Badge Quest is not an official alert source, so always follow official instructions.
